Three Things To Be Long Remembered

Three things to be long remembered:

1. Your childhood in general.

2. The special things that happened in your childhood.

3. The town from your childhood, even if it no longer exists.

A narrow island in Galveston Bay will be named after Baby Grace-
"Riley's Island", for Riley Ann Sawyers, the baby girl, with the beautiful face.

Three things that politicians need to do before taking office:

1. Buy new office furniture.

2. Change the name on the door.

3. Reveal the skeletons in their closets.

Three things overheard that made the East Montgomery County History Day worthwhile:

1. That was my great-great grandfather.

2. I remember when that place used to be there.

3. We must be related, somehow or another.

As the East Montgomery County Historical Society, is preserving the history today.

1. The 15th Amendment is adopted. (1870)

2. President Reagan is shot. (1981)

3. The R.B. Tullis Branch Library, in New Caney, opens
its' doors for the first time. (2007)

(Bring a memory of the older locations to share....)
